With over 15 years of experience, Personal Tax Advisors are a boutique tax preparation company with an excellent reputation. Our speciality is the growing field of tax preparation for entrepreneurs, sole proprietors, freelancers and other self-employed people. As the gig economy grows, so does our clientele.
We are a small downtown office. Unlike the bigger companies, we offer longer, face-to-face meetings of an hour or more with clients, getting to know them and cultivating relationships that last for years. We are looking for new members of the team to work with clients, preparing tax returns, providing information, and dealing compassionately with their concerns. This job is as much about PEOPLE as it is about tax.
This opportunity is not just for a job, but for a learning experience as you broaden your tax knowledge and professional client services skills serving some of the most interesting, dynamic, and creative people in Toronto: our clients.
Knowledge of personal tax fundamentals (e.g., completing tax returns with T4 slips, RRSP contributions, medical and childcare receipts) is essential to start. Applicants must complete some skills assessment tests before qualifying for an interview. In-person experience in individual tax preparation, customer service, or both, are strong advantages.
Those selected will learn directly, one-on-one, from an experienced tax specialist the skills required to complete income tax returns and GST/HST returns for self-employed people, and how to apply knowledge of tax laws to obtain the best results for taxpayers.
If you have tax preparation experience, the ability to follow existing procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build genuine warmth and rapport with clients, we want to talk to you.
Compensation will depending upon ability and experience. You will also be compensated during the training period when you are not preparing returns. If it turns out to be a great match (between you and us), long-term employment is a definite possibility.
Interested applicants please apply to firstname.lastname@example.org and include your phone number, best time(s) to reach you, and resume or letter outlining relevant experience. In your email, include your answer to the following question: Why would you like to help self-employed people complete their tax returns? You MUST answer this question to be considered for an interview.
We will be accepting applications until we find a good fit! We look forward to meeting you!
